Diddy Asked To Turn Over His Jewelry For Inspection In Assault Case


Sean "P. Diddy" Combs is being asked to turn over photos of some of his "bling-bling" for inspection by a man who claims the rapper assaulted him after a post-Oscar soiree at a Hollywood hotel, court papers show.
Rechnitzer alleges the assault occurred between 2 and 2:30 in the morning last Feb. 25 as he was leaving Teddy's, a nightclub within the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel where he had spent time with his girlfriend and other friends.
According to the plaintiff's lawsuit, filed March 2 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Combs was upset that Rechnitzer's girlfriend decided not to leave the hotel with him.
Rechnitzer's lawyer, Michael M. Marzban, filed court papers Monday asking Combs to produce photos of rings he wore that night so they can be examined to see if they contributed to his client's alleged injuries.
"Needless to say, Combs does not wear simple rings," Marzban's motion states. "The rings he wore when he struck (Rechnitzer) are important and critical to the bio-mechanics of this case."
Marzban's motion also asks Combs to hand over documents that the lawyer alleges will prove whether or not the rapper was at the Hollywood Roosevelt that night, and how much alcohol he might have consumed at Teddy's.
Marzban additionally is asking for information on the security entourage Combs had with him at the time.
Marzban said he has been patient in his requests for information, even to the point of granting Combs an extension so the entertainer could attend the Princess Diana tribute concert in London on July 1.
But by late August, Combs had still not complied with all of the requests for information, according to Marzban's motion, which says Combs' lawyer said his client was out of the country.
"After several conversations with (Combs') attorney, it became apparent to me that (Combs') constant partying both in the United States and abroad took priority ....," Marzban wrote.
Combs has recently spent considerable time in the United States filming MTV's Making the Band 4, making concert appearances and attending the Magic Online Fashion & Apparel Trade Show in Las Vegas, Marzban argues in his motion.
Combs' lawyer, Hillary A. Jones, declined to comment on the statements in Marzban's court papers.
Rechnitzer claims he stopped to use the restroom, then went to the parking lot to meet his companions and was assaulted without provocation by Combs, who was talking with Rechnitzer's girlfriend.
Combs also allegedly pushed Rechnitzer's girlfriend and tried to spit on another female member of the plaintiff's group. As he left, Combs stuck half of his body out of a car window and stared at Rechnitzer in a threatening manner, his lawsuit alleges.
According to TMZ.com, the alleged confrontation occurred as Rechnitzer -- a 5-foot-7, 140-pound real estate broker -- tried to get his girlfriend to leave as Combs, along with five other men, urged her to party with them.
Rechnitzer called 911 and Los Angeles police came to take a report, but Combs left before they arrived, according to the celebrity Web site.
